A message from The Founder

A few years ago, I found myself sitting in a back room at Queen Alia International Airport in Jordan, sitting in a circle with the Minister of the Interior having tea with him and twenty other officers. 

I was in pursuit of a drone permit to film at the Treasury in Petra - you may know it from Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. 

I was alone, except for my local producer, having sent my team ahead to scout the location. 

A moment before I entered the back room, the local producer whispered in my ear that I was not to speak or look directly at any of the men in the room as it would offend them and our permit would be denied. 

So, as the only woman in the room, I was forced to whisper the answers to questions to my local producer, despite that I had been leading the project for a year. 

Rise & Roar was created out of a determination to not see anyone else placed in a similar situation - where their vision had to be translated by the voice of another.
